Flax fiber, commonly known as linen, has a rich history dating back to the Stone Age. Ancient Egyptians famously used linen fabric made from flax fiber to wrap their deceased. This versatile fiber can be spun into pure linen yarn or carded with other wool fibers to add texture for spinning and felting projects. Linen becomes softer with use, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of textile applications.

Bast fiber is a type of natural fiber derived from the inner bark, or phloem, of certain plants. These fibers are strong, durable, and often used in the production of textiles, ropes, and other materials.

Bast fibers are typically extracted through a process called retting, which involves soaking the plant stems to separate the fibers from the woody core and outer bark. Once separated, the fibers are cleaned, spun, and woven into various products.

All my fiber comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.
The lighting for the photos makes the colors a little brighter than they do in person, so expect the colors one or two shades darker.
