Brown Merino Top

from $4.50

This 24-micron Merino has a beautiful milky-chocolate natural color. Still great for making it into a garment worn next to the skin. You can spin it, felt it, weave it, and much more. If you are new to spinning, this wool has a little more "tooth" than the regular white merino, so it can be a wonderful fiber to start with and help with making you feel comfortable with your drafting. Enjoyable for beginners or more experienced spinners. This wool will felt.

Like any other natural fiber, wool has a distinctive smell, some stronger than others, and that some people might find unpleasant. This particular Merino has a stronger smell than the white merino, however, the wool is clean, soft, and cleaned without the use of harsh chemicals. The smell should dissipate over time. It can also be soaked with a little dish detergent or a mixture of water with vinegar to help to get rid of the smell. Remember, wool comes from sheep that live and grazes outdoors most of the year.

Natural wools, undyed and not overly processed, are a joy to work with and give some of the best results when we're combing new blends. Great for felting, and they're at their absolute best when handspun, where the different shades really have a chance to stand out in your finished yarn.

All my fiber comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.

I used to store my fibers with lavender sachets, but I don't anymore as I have learned that moths hate disturbances and some people are allergic to lavender. Now I dust and clean more frequently and move things around but I still include a lavender sachet with each order, unless someone requests me not to. If you don't want the lavender because you are allergic or for some other reason, let me know in the comment section, or send me a message.

I do my best to get pictures from different angles to capture and show the beauty of the color combinations. Remember that your monitor may show colors differently than mine. I'm always open to questions.

The lighting for the photos makes the colors a little brighter than they do in person, so expect the colors one or two shades darker.
