Merino d'Arles - Combed Top Undyed Brown Wool

from $4.25

Merino d'Arles
23 micron count
Staple: 3.5 to 4 inches long

Natural Undyed

Natural wools, undyed and not overly processed, are a joy to work with and give some of the best results when we're combing new blends. Great for felting, and they're at their absolute best when handspun, where the different shades really have a chance to stand out in your finished yarn.

The breed originally comes from the South of France and it's a cross of Spanish Merino with a local sheep breed, the “mouton camarguaise”.
The wool is soft and squishy, with a staple length between 3.5 and 4 inches long, 23 microns.
The yarn made will be bulky and soft with a bounce.

All my fiber comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment.

I used to store my fibers with lavender sachets, but I don't anymore as I have learned that moths hate disturbances and some people are allergic to lavender. Now I dust and clean more frequently and move things around but I still include a lavender sachet with each order, unless someone requests me not to. If you don't want the lavender because you are allergic or for some other reason, let me know in the comment section, or send me a message.

I do my best to get pictures from different angles to capture and show the beauty of the color combinations. Remember that your monitor may show colors differently than mine. I'm always open to questions.

The lighting for the photos makes the colors a little brighter than they do in person, so expect the colors one or two shades darker.
